In this intimate collaboration, Michael David Adams and Viktorija Bowers Adams explore the delicate psychological threshold between isolation and reentry. Titled Rush, the series serves as a visual metaphor for the ‘thaw’—the turbulent, overwhelming process of opening oneself back up to the world after deep emotional wounds have caused an emotional freeze. It captures that sudden, almost frightening influx of sensation and color as the walls come down. These images document the courage it takes to feel again, moving from a place of guarded silence into the vibrant, rushing current of life.
