In this series, the ancient city of Dubrovnik—the historic Republic of Ragusa—is stripped back to its most essential elements. While the world often focuses on the grand vistas of its famous red roofs, this collection seeks beauty in the isolated vignette.  The sharp shadow on a limestone stair, the perfect arch of a window, and the weathered textures of the Adriatic’s past. It is a celebration of architectural precision, where every corner and small detail is revealed to be a work of art as powerful and enduring.

I found myself mesmerized by the rhythmic play of light across the creamy Brac limestone, the same legendary stone harvested from the nearby islands to build the palaces of the Mediterranean. These images highlight the sharp shadow on a 14th-century stair, the perfect Gothic-Renaissance arch of a window, and the weathered textures of the Adriatic’s past. It is a celebration of architectural precision, where every corner and hand-carved detail is revealed to be a work of art as powerful and enduring as the city itself.
